I can't quite give this restaurant a 4 star rating but I can give it 3 1/2 stars. Went there with my son & his mom the Monday after Thanksgiving upon her request in honor of her birthday. Overall, I would say the food is well above average. The mussels were by far the hit item with some gangster melted cheese (to almost die for) over it. Mussels can be an item that many folks will either like or dislike but these were steamed well and the cheese was, again, second to none.
The shortcomings included a total lack of pork offerings, which I cannot recall any Chinese buffet I've been to ever excluding. They did at least make up for it in the amount of beef offerings, which are scant in many of these same eateries but not having things like sweet & sour pork and pork with onions, wow, that was a disappointment. Chicken dishes were aplenty.
The other issues, albeit fairly minor, were not including knives when they give you your napkin wrapped around a spoon & fork (though they did have them at one of the buffet tables) and having to request additional napkins (as opposed to having a napkin dispenser at the table). And I've tasted better almond cookies. But the side and main dishes were more than ample in terms of selection and drink refills never had to wait long for. Quality was overall good and I would definitely consider returning, though it's probably not going to be my first choice in mind for a bite when I return to the Portage vicinity. -

We stopped in because it was the nearest sit down Chinese near our hotel. The service & cleanliness of the place is 5s but the food is sub par. Nothing authentic. Everything tastes the same & is over cooked. Typical buffet issues only with Chinese food. Everything tastes stale, including the ice cream & fortune cookie. Such a huge disappointment. Please save your hard earned money for real Chinese food.

Gross. Overpriced. The wait staff was friendly, but all the food was either underseasoned, too cold, or too hot. Worst crawfish I have ever had ANYWHERE. You can't charge $12 a person for $4 food. I've had Chinese food MILES BETTER in the Southwest, where I'm from.

We ordered takeout through their online site. It was ready when I picked it up about 15 minutes later. The man at the counter was nice. My food was delicious. The rangoons had a delicious flavor but weren't as crisp as I thought they would be. Maybe because they were put in the bag when they were hot. Not a huge deal. I will be returning and using their online system to order again. Perhaps even try the buffet as I haven't been to a really good Chinese buffet in many years. Thank you!

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in North America. The owners changed in 2016 , the new management has kept up the great food tradition that I have loved for the past 15 years. Come and see for yourself.
